Tanish’s effort keeps Vasai in check

MUMBAI: Left-arm sipnner Tanish Shetty (four for 63) took three wickets late in the day as Goregaon Centre reduced Vasai Centre to 216 for five on Day One of the final of the Ajit Naik Memorial U-14 selection trials tournament on Monday.

Sent in to bat, Vasai were nicely placed at 196 for two before Shetty landed those crucial blows. Earlier, useful contributi­ons from Advait Kandalkar (64), Swapnil Verma (49) and Kshitij Pal (42) helped Vasai get off to a good start.
