The district court of Gautam Budh Nagar awarded a seven-year imprisonment to a teacher on Saturday for sexually abusing am 11-year-old boy in 2018.

The teacher abused the student in the school staff room when he used to take mathematics tuitions after school hours.

“Today, additional district judge Vineet Chaudhary held the accused teacher, Shailesh, guilty under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and awarded him a seven-year imprisonment and a fine of ₹20,000,” said special public prosecution officer JP Bhati on Saturday.

On July 7, 2018, the boy’s father lodged an FIR at Surajpur police station against the convict.

Police registered the FIR under Indian Penal Code Section 377 and Protection of Children

from Sexual Offences Act.

It was stated in the complaint that his 11-year-old son was a student of Class 6 at a school in Greater Noida’s Surajpur.

The mathematics teacher, Shailesh, used to give him tuitions after school hours.

On July 7, 2018, the boy told his parents that his mathematics teacher had been sexually abusing him in the staff room for six months.

When the father complained about this to the school principal, some other students, too, complained about the same.

The convict claimed he was implicated in a false case.

The teacher said he had given a loan of ₹1 lakh to the victim’s father, and when he asked for the money, the man “implicated him in the false case”.

He also claimed that the victim’s aunt did not pay her child’s fees and gave a false statement against him.
