NOIDA: To discourage any manipulation in allotment of beds and oxygen, the Gautam Budh Nagar district administration will launch on Tuesday a dashboard containing the latest verified status on beds, oxygen and ambulances in all private and government hospitals across the district.

Gautam Budh Nagar district magistrate Suhas LY said that the dashboard will give realtime information on the available Covid-dedicated facilities, like hospital beds and ambulances.

“Maintained by the district health officials, this dashboard

– available on the district’s website, gbnagar.nic.in – will provide a live bed availability tracking link for the convenience of patients infected by coronavirus and requiring hospitalisation. It will not only put a check on manipulation of availability, but also ensure seamless hospitalisation of eligible cases,” he said.

He further said that the dashboard will contain mobile numbers of the medical and administrative nodal officers for different Covid-dedicated facilities.

“These officials will not only ensure the display of real-time availability of different types of beds and updated status of oxygen stock in different hospitals, they will also save time in hospitalisation of Covid-19 patients with severe symptoms,” he said.

Suhas also said that at present, the district has around 20 dedicated Covid facilities, which can cater to around 2,000 patients. “We have also readied another 1,000 beds for Covid patients. We’ll use these beds from the moment adequate oxygen is available to us,” he said.

Dr Deepak Ohri, the chief medical officer (CMO), said that in the present scenario, healthcare experts have advised that patients with mild to moderate symptoms should remain in home isolation. “Hospitalisation is prescribed to patients only with severe symptoms. Our doctors also request the asymptomatic or moderately symptomatic patients, to be under home isolation,” he said.
