“The current FY shall prove to be a landmark year to achieve pre-covid business parameters”

With a focus on new business verticals this financial year, CONCOR aims to achieve growth in both domestic and EXIM sector. V Kalyana Rama, CMD, CONCOR spoke about his future plans for the company. Excerpts

Q: How has your overall management philosophy changed after the pandemic? CONCOR has always imbibed digital solutions for efficiency. CONCOR had started e-office almost a year before the pandemic which helped the organisati­on function 24*7 through all its terminals and area offices without any hindrance. CONCOR also provided digital solutions to all its customers in the form of e-filing of documents, e-job orders and mobile applicatio­n etc. to facilitate customers to organise their day-to-day business transactio­ns from anywhere. To sum up, the organisati­on has augmented digital network on pan India basis and also stressed on the well being of its stakeholde­rs through contactles­s business solutions.

Q: How has the pandemic impacted your business?

Q1 and Q2 of FY 2020-21 had impacted the EXIM business due to drop in global demands.

However, there was lot of domestic movement of food grains and pharmaceut­ical products. CONCOR bounced back in Q3 and Q4 of FY 202021 and did record loading and revenue generation. Q: After seeing a dip in your consolidat­ed net profit in Q4 2021, what is your strategy for growth this financial year?

The strategy of growth in this FY is to focus more on new business verticals such as First Mile Last Mile, distributi­on and logistics, bulk loading, providing complete business solutions to our esteemed customers besides providing innovative streams for attracting business like volume discount scheme and freight rebates. The focus will also be on providing Ai-based solutions for management of terminals to ensure efficiency and transparen­cy.

Q: How long do you think it will take operationa­lly before you reach pre-covid parameters?

It is expected that current FY 2021-22 shall prove to be a landmark year to achieve pre-covid business parameters as the demand is strong despite pandemic and CONCOR with its robust infrastruc­ture shall be able to provide efficient services to its customers to meet its demands in time, both in domestic as well as EXIM sector.

Q: What are your plans in terms of diversific­ation and expansion for this financial year?

The focus shall be to enlarge the network of distributi­on logistics, ensure growth in warehousin­g business, cover every terminal on FMLM network and extend the bulk loading business to other commoditie­s like cement, fly ash besides food grains.
