189 homeless people vaccinated in GB Ngr
NOIDA: A total of 189 people were vaccinated at a special camp held at Vikas Bhawan in Surajpur to vaccinate the destitute and homeless who do not have any identification documents, according to officials from the Gautam Budh Nagar health department.
According to them, out of the total vaccinations, 40 were beggars, 19 were homeless and 80 were unregistered roadside vendors. The remaining 50 vaccines were administered to staff at the Vikas Bhawan. The camp received a lukewarm response than what was expected, said District Social Welfare Officer Shailendra Bahadur Singh.
“Though we had publicised about the special camp weeks in advance, not many turned up for the vaccinations. This can either be due to lack of awareness or because they have already been vaccinated,” said Singh.
