As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttar Pradesh completed four-and-ahalf years in power on Sunday, the party leaders in all 75 districts presented the government’s report card on the development and welfare works in the state. While presenting the report card at an event in Noida, Gautam Budh Nagar MP Dr Mahesh Sharma claimed that the district has become top choice among global and domestic investors.

“Gautam Budh Nagar is the only district in the state that is witnessing over 50 projects attracting an investment of about ₹50,000 crore, including ₹30,000 crore for the international airport at Jewar. This has happened because our government in the state has been able to win over the trust of all sections, paving the way for development... In the state, we are leading the developmental agenda. UP has come out of its bad days during our party rule,” said Sharma while addressing the media.

Apart from the former Union minister, Noida MLA Pankaj Singh, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh and Dadri MLA Tejpal Nagar were also present at the event organised three days ahead of chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to the district to unveil a statue of King Mihir

Bhoj at a degree college of Dadri in Greater Noida on September 22. The leaders at the event said that their government has changed the ‘image of the state’ in the last four and a half years.

“Now, residents feel a sense of security in the state as our government is working for all sections of the society and there is a rule of law,” said Dhirendra Singh, adding that the proposed airport in Jewar will further drive the economy of the state. “There is a common practice that the youth from UP used to go to other states in search of livelihood. But now the trend will change as they will get employment in Jewar, where hundreds of industrial projects are coming up.”

“We will reserve 70% of jobs for women at Apparel Park coming up in Jewar. A trauma centre is being built in Jewar and data centres are being set up to create thousands of jobs in the district,” he said.
