VOCATIONAL AND SKILL DEVELOPMEN­T DEPARTMENT PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT TO YOUTH THROUGH FAIRS

A record number of online job fairs organised by the Department helped generate employment for thousands of youth

The 'mission rozgar' of the Yogi government continued unabated despite the vagaries of Covid-19 pandemic and there was no let up in providing employment to the youth even during the period. The online 'Rozgar Fairs' organised by the state government have proved to be a boon for the unemployed youth.

The Department of Vocational Education and Skill Developmen­t set a record of organising 44 online job fairs during the Covid period and provided employment to more than 10 thousand youths. This was the time when offline job fairs were suspended due to Covid but online fairs served the purpose.

The government has been successful in providing jobs to more than four lakh youths in four years, making them selfrelian­t. In fact, the Vocational Education and Skill Developmen­t Department has provided employment to 26604 youths through 26 big offline job fairs between 2017 to 2021. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also attended one such fair in Gorakhpur last year. In this, 5117 youths had received offer letters, while appointmen­t letters were distribute­d to 5577 youths. In the job fairs organised in Mahoba and Muzaffarna­gar in 2020-21, employment was provided to 500 and 3300 youths respective­ly.

YOGI GOVERNMENT SETS RECORD IN SKILL DEVELOPMEN­T

Not only the Yogi government has provided employment but trained the unemployed in skill developmen­t in order to enable them to get employment according to their skill sets.

As per the statistics of the Department of Skill Developmen­t, only 3,71,380 youths were trained between 2013 and 17 during the previous government. Whereas the Yogi government provided skill training to a record 8,92,334 youths in four and a half years from 2017 to 2021. More than 26 thousand youths were provided employment in the last four and a half years.
