INNOVATIVE CHANGES IN HIGHER EDUCATION
The state is focusing on its cultural heritage and folk art. It has established Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Research Chair in 15 State Universities for which recruitment is underway
In order to achieve the twin purpose of augmenting the research facilities and inculcating the elements of our cultural heritage into young minds, the state government has made some qualitative changes in the education system during the last four and a half years.
Several new experiments have been done to increase research facilities in the universities. These included setting up of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Research Chair in 15 state universities. A Centre of Excellence has also been completed for the promotion of cultural heritage, traditions and folk art of Uttar Pradesh. According to Higher Education department sources, the State Government carried forward research in consonance with the modern and contemporary aspects, dimensions and processes of education. This helped students to be in sync with the current trends and also to determine the direction of future plans.
Also, the Bhaurao Deoras research chair, Atal Good Governance Chair and Mahatma Gandhi International Employment Chair were established in Lucknow University. Similarly, Chauri-chaura Study Center was set up in Deendayal Upadhyay University, Gorakhpur.
Along with this, language centres have been established in the districts to promote Indian languages. The Yogi government opened new colleges and approved the introduction of new courses in the existing colleges. All the processes for getting affiliation from universities have been made online in the academic session 2021-22.
LARGE SCALE RECRUITMENT OF TEACHERS
The state government also met the requirement of teachers and made a large number of recruitments during the last four and a half years. During this period 1,25,987 primary teachers, 14,436 secondary, 4988 higher education and 365 teachers in technical education department have been recruited.
