NOIDA: Two men were stabbed after an altercation broke out over stale beverages at a food joint in Sector 15 on Saturday night, police said. Police registered a case of attempt to murder and nabbed three suspects, including a minor, on Monday.

According to the police, the arrested suspects have been identified as Ajay Jaiswal (22) and Sunny (19) – both residents of Noida. Ajay runs a food joint in Sector 15 under phase 1 police station jurisdiction.

The complainant, Shailendra Pal (25) who lives in New Ashok Nagar along with his two friends, Vishal Gautam (25) and Rohit Nishad (25) said that on Saturday, he reached home around 11.45pm after work after which the roommates went out to have milkshakes.

“My roommates did not have dinner, so we went out to eat.

We were heading towards Sector 16 around 1am and decided to have milk shakes in Sector 15. We found the Food Villa/ Chai Sutta Café open and ordered a cold coffee and a shake. After having a sip, we found them sour,” Pal said.

The three friends raised objection to the taste following which a heated argument took place with the owner and waiter. According to the complaint, the owner of the cafe started abusing them. “A scuffle broke out and a worker from the café got a stick from inside. We were about to leave when Gautam was stabbed. Later, they also stabbed Nishad in his chest,” Pal added.

“As Nishad bled, the suspects fled the spot after lowering the shop shutter. There were around three to four people. After taking them to Kailash Hospital in Sector 27, I made a call on Dial 112 and informed the police about the stabbing incident,” Pal said.

According to the police, Gautam’s condition is critical, while Nishad is stable. “We have nabbed the three suspects and also recovered the knife used in the crime. Two of them have been sent to judicial custody while the third, who is a juvenile, has been sent to a correctional home,” said Ranvijay Singh, additional deputy commissioner of police, Noida.
