the impact

The crisis has led many hospitality businesses such as hotels, airlines, tour operators, and cruises to partial inactivity and temporary shutdown. As a result, these companies are seeing a drastic drop in their revenue. It is a ‘declining demand curve’ to many businesses, however, many employers try to avoid laying off employees while making sure employees are eligible for employment insurance if it is available in their country.

the way out

Based on the several recoveries of the industry after previous tragic events, such as the incident of 9/11, it is fair to assume that there is nothing to worry. I expect a slow recovery taking place within the next three to six months. Indeed, the hospitality industry counts two categories of customers – business and leisure. These customers, who had to postpone their travels, are likely expected to travel again once they feel safe and the airlines are back to operating normally.
