As she turns 30 today (June 9), Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor says that she feels she has ended her twenties on a productive note. She had two releases — Dolly Ki Doli and Khoobsurat — and has also started working on two other projects — a biopic on Neerja Bhanot, and a film with Salman Khan.

Now, she is kick-starting her thirties with a 10-day vacation with her friends.

Speaking to us over the phone from London, UK, she says, “A lot of my school friends are here in London, and some of my other friends are also vacationing in Europe. So, this place is a good converging point for all of us. I will also be visiting Florence, Italy, and Amsterdam, Netherlands.”

While she has her friends for company on the trip, from her family, Sonam will only be accompanied by her younger sister, Rhea Kapoor. She says, “Since dad’s (Anil Kapoor) film has just released, he is busy in Mumbai, and mom (Sunita Kapoor) is with him. As for Harsh (Harshvardhan Kapoor; brother), he is finishing the last schedule of his film with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (film-maker).”

When asked about her plans for her 30th year, Sonam says, “I plan to think about myself a little more in terms of my health, and do better work. I do a lot of social work; now I want to create more awareness. On the whole, I will try and better my life, and those of others around me. I want to spend more time with my family and friends,” says the actor.

Apart from her personal life, Sonam is also focusing on her professional pursuits. She plans to launch a fashion brand in association with her sister, Rhea Kapoor, this year. “Rhea and I are going to launch a fashion brand. Our idea was to make high street fashion for Indian girls. So, we have created the designs based on our own experiences and observations. We have incorporated a lot of things from our personal styles in the collection,” says Sonam.

On another note, Sonam is also pleased with the response her father, Anil Kapoor, is receiving for his performance in his latest release. “He was simply enjoying himself in the film. I feel he can do any role with ease,” she says.
