NO ACTING DEBUT FOR PRIYANKA’S MUM

Contrary to reports, the actor’s mother won’t be seen in her upcoming Marathi production

After acting in multiple Bollywood films and bagging a Hollywood project, Priyanka Chopra (extreme left) has ventured into film production. The actor has established a production house, and aims to encourage films that are made in languages other than Hindi. Recent reports have suggested that Priyanka will be seen playing herself in a Marathi film that is also being produced by the actor. Her mother Madhu Chopra (left) was also supposed to be making her acting debut in it. We have now learnt that these reports aren’t true.

A source close to the actor says, “The stories of Madhu playing Priyanka’s on-screen mum in the movie are untrue. She won’t be acting in the film. As far as Priyanka’s role is concerned, nothing has been finalised as yet. She has not started shooting for the movie.”

The Marathi film is one of three projects currently being backed by Priyanka’s production house. It is set to release this year.

Madhu remained unavailable for a comment. Her spokesperson, however, confirmed the news, and said, “Dr Madhu Chopra’s involvement in Priyanka’s Marathi production is in the capacity of a producer. All other reports with regards to her making an appearance in the film are completely baseless and false.”
