Meet the ‘different’ superhero

-

Remo D’souza feels that the superhero in his upcoming directorial venture, A Flying Jatt, is quite different from other superheroes — whether it comes to his costume or his powers. “The blue-and-gold superhero costume is something we have never seen before. We have not borrowed anything from the west for this film,” says Remo, adding that in the film, the costume is stitched by the superhero’s mother (played by Amrita Singh).

The Bollywood choreographer-director reveals that the mother is an important part of the superhero’s life. “Unlike other superhero films, our Jatt, played by Tiger

Shroff (above), isn’t scared of kryptonite or a villain, but his mother. She can make the ‘Turbanator’ shiver with fear. He also suffers from a fear of heights. It will be interesting to see how this superhero deals with his weaknesses that contradict his superhero powers,” says Remo, adding that during the promotional activities of the film, the makers realised that Tiger’s character has already become quite popular with kids, even before the release of the film.

In other news, the usually hard-to-please Pahlaj Nihalani (Central Board of Film Certification chief) is also rooting for the desi superhero.

Talking about the superhero’s powers, which include flying, “super” dancing and rescuing damsels in distress, the director says, “He can also absorb the powers of anything he touches, such as a book or a gadget. But only for 30 seconds.”

Apparently, Tiger has really impressed former WWE wrestler and Hollywood actor Nathan Jones, who plays the role of the villain in the film, with his skills. Incidentally, Tiger is ruing the fact that he can’t keep the superhero costume with him.

Balaji Motion Pictures’ A Flying Jatt, directed by Remo D’souza, releases today (August 25).
