Vivek Oberoi (left) is set to star in a web series. The actor will play a bookie in the show, and is “excited” about the project. Besides acting, Vivek also plans on producing films under his banner. The actor reveals that he will produce the sequel to the 2002 movie Company. “As soon as Ram Gopal Varma (film-maker) completes shooting Sarkar 3, we will start with the pre-production of Company 2,” he adds. The actor wishes to make films based on stories that excite him, and wants to focus on characters that he can relate to. He is quick to add that he will not necessarily act in each project he produces. “If the story moves me and is something that should be made, I will [produce it]. But, I will not act in all my projects. If a role can be played better by some other actor, then I will just produce the film,” says Vivek. The Saathiya (2002) star is also willing to venture into the TV industry. “I am looking forward to producing shows that make a social impact and those that deal with relevant social issues. It has to be something that the audience connects with, and is close to my heart,” he says.

Although he is juggling different projects, Vivek continues to be on the forefront when it comes to philanthropic activities. His NGO, One Foundation, has recently built three schools in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. “We have rescued over 2,500 children from abuse, violence, prostitution, forced labour and other atrocities. We have provided free food, education and healthcare to the students of our schools. The school acts as a safe haven and empowers young girls through education. It helps them fight and abolish child marriage, human trafficking, and other social evils.”
