Hide Hazel, hide

Interest in celebrity weddings has always been high in our country, and if it’s a cricketer getting married, the constant attention is bound to go through the ceiling. Yuvraj Singh (far right) had a quiet engagement with Hazel Keech (right) in Bali (Indonesia) early this year, partly as the couple didn’t want all the media attention. And now that his wedding is around the corner (November 30), Yuvraj is making sure as little as possible is known to the public so that there can be no speculation at all. In fact, he is so particular about his privacy that Hazel has been instructed not to divulge any details about the wedding.

A source says, “Yuvraj’s mother, Shabnam, and his father, Yograj, have been doing all the talking about the wedding, the venues and the events. All Yuvraj has said during interviews is that he will have a reception in Delhi. He didn’t even reveal the exact date. His fiancée, Hazel, was also instructed to keep mum on the marriage. They want this to be an extremely private affair, and since Hazel is an actor, they told her to completely avoid interaction with the media.”

The source adds that Hazel has not been available on the phone, and her public relations people are lying low. “Besides going out of the city to shop for her wedding trousseau with her mother-inlaw Shabnam, Hazel hasn’t been seen in public at all. Even when Yuvraj went to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the wedding, he went with his mother,” the source says.

The couple, who have been dating for over two years, will have a sangeet ceremony and a reception at a five-star hotel in Delhi on November 29, and the wedding will be held as per Sikh rituals a day later. There are around 100 guests, including Yuvraj’s Indian cricket teammates, who will be present at the reception.
