Schools across India participated in the Dabur Chyawanprash Immune India School Challenge in partnership with Hindustan. The certificate-based programme recognizes schools that have the maximum number of healthy children.

Speaking about the initiative, Rajeev John, marketing head — Health Supplements, Dabur India Ltd, says, “Dabur Chyawanprash Immune India School Challenge is one of our key initiatives to spread awareness on the importance of immunity. Dabur Chyawanprash, being one of the leading healthcare brands in the country, has taken up the responsibility to drive awareness on the need for building immunity, especially amongst children, through the Immune India campaign. We recognise the fact that schools play an important role in shaping a child’s future, since they are the primary caregivers during the formative years, and so the Immune India School Challenge is focused on schools. For the last few years, through the Immune India School Challenge, we have been reaching out to schools across the country to educate students and teachers on the need for immunity. Dabur also made an ‘Immuno-meter’ for the schools and conducted BMI health check-ups. The campaign also tied up with the NGO, Goonj. All the clothes collected during the campaign were handed over to the NGO.

The teams reached out to schools in 30 cities, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttrakhand, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. After the challenge, the clear winners were – Lexicon International School, Pune — national winner, Amity Gurgaon — national first runner-up, Delhi Public School, Ghaziabad — National second runner-up, and Campion School, Colaba — Maharashtra state winner.

Elated about the win, Gursimran Kaur, principal, Lexicon International School, Pune, says, “Winning the Dabur Chyawanprash Immune India School Challenge among 3,500 schools all over India is a great achievement. It’s great not only because of the contribution of our healthy bunch of happy kids, but because they are the future of our nation.” Calling it a great initiative, Paul Machado, principal, Campion, Mumbai, says, “It is a great initiative undertaken by Dabur to encourage the importance of healthy living in the young minds. This will encourage students to give importance to fitness, which is very often neglected.”
