We will end up bringing work home, says Vidya Balan
The actor doesn’t intend to work with husband and producer, Siddharth Roy Kapoor, as she doesn’t want work tensions to reach her home
Vidya Balan is married to producer Siddharth Roy Kapur, but the actor recently said that the couple avoids working together, as it is healthier for their marriage. The Dirty Picture (2011) actor insists that she wants to keep her work and personal life separate.
She says, “It’s not that we [she and Siddharth] will end up fighting or something, but [if we work together], we will end up bringing work back home. And then, there’s no difference between work and home. I wouldn’t want any difference of opinion that might arise [on the sets] to reach our home.”
When veteran actor Shabana Azmi said that Vidya would be terrific if she ever did theatre, since she “has a beautiful voice”, the comment made headlines. Reacting to the compliment, Vidya says, “The fact that Shabana Azmi said that makes me feel like I am walking on the clouds (smiles). I really love her, and it’s fantastic to get such a compliment from her. The only thing she doesn’t know is that I freeze up in front of a live audience. I think I will forget all my lines (laughs). It would require, maybe, a year of preparation for me to do it,” she says.
Meanwhile, Vidya is also growing more active on social media. “I began using Facebook recently. I have been on Instagram for a while, as I enjoy it the most. I like taking pictures — I don’t take very nice ones — but I still put them up (laughs),” says the actor, adding that she’s “not good with words.”
“I can’t say anything in 140 characters [like on Twitter], so you will see a series of tweets from me. I enjoy Instagram the most, and I’m on Facebook now. I enjoy the platform, but I only use it when I feel like it,” Vidya says.
