Mehendi done, now comes the wedding

The big day is here. Cricketer Yuvraj Singh and British-Mauritian actor Hazel Keech will tie the knot in Chandigarh today (November 30). The wedding invites were sent out to the who’s who of cricket, Bollywood and the political fraternity. “I’m just going crazy with everything. There are so many people around me. Guests have started to come in and the preparations are all done. We’re so excited,” Yuvi’s mother, Shabnam Singh, said over the phone.

Hazel will wear a JJ Valaya anarkali suit for the gurudwara wedding, and Yuvraj will wear a sherwani by the same designer. There will be another round of wedding rituals in Goa on December 2. “It’s a small affair. Only family and close friends will be present... 100 odd people,” reveals a source.

Hazel will wear a red and gold Banarsi sari for that and an indigo jumpsuit for the after-party. Not to forget, there will be a gala reception in the capital on December 7.

“The Indian cricket team will definitely be there for most functions. Besides top politicians, who’ve been invited for the Delhi reception, the guest list includes the Ambanis, the Bachchans, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Aamir Khan, Soha and Saif Ali Khan, Salman Khan, Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi,” adds the source. “I might attend the wedding, but I’ve just started shooting (for a TV show). So whenever I have a day off, I’ll make it,” says actor Neha Dhupia.

There were reports that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma might attend the wedding together. However, it seems unlikely now. “Anushka arrived in Chandigarh (on November 28), a day before the mehendi function, but left soon after meeting Yuvi’s family,” says the source.
