A film that addresses eco-terrorism in India

-

Irada, starring veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah and actors Arshad Warsi, Divya Dutta, Sagarika Ghatge and Sharad Kelkar, aims to address the issue of ecoterrorism in India. Directed by debutant director Aparnaa Singh and produced by Prince Soni and Falguni Patel, the plot of the film revolves around a mysterious bomb blast in a business tycoon’s (Sharad Kelkar) factory. This leads to the hiring of an NIA officer played by Arshad Warsi. He meets an ex-army man (Naseeruddin Shah) seeking revenge for his dead daughter, and a journalist (Sagarika Ghatge) demanding justice for her slain boyfriend.

Arshad and Naseeruddin have worked together in the past and agree that they love collaborating. “I love working with Naseer saab. He’s one-ofa-kind — he doesn’t act, he becomes the character,” says Arshad. “Naseer Saab is honest with his work on screen and with his words off screen,” says Warsi, adding, “Irada is a content-driven film with a strong and sensitive subject. It is a must-watch for everyone. You need to pay attention and watch closely, otherwise you’ll miss out on all the subtle details and clues.”

Naseeruddin, who is all praise for Arshad’s talent, also agrees that the film is a must-watch. “Irada’s core is the characters with layers and secrets, who make the film engaging,” the thespian adds. “The film is special because it is real, and it’s Aparnaa’s first film as a writer-director. This is a very hard-hitting subject.”

An Irada Entertainment LLP production, produced by Falguni Patel and Prince Soni, directed by Aparnaa Singh, Irada is all set to release today (February 17).
