Designer Tommy Hilfiger apologises to Hrithik Roshan for a faux pas; says he is a fan of the actor
On February 9, Hrithik Roshan (left) took to Twitter to point out how a globally renowned clothing and lifestyle brand had used pictures of him and his children (Hrehaan and Hridhaan) to promote its new collection without the actor’s knowledge. Now, HT Café has learnt that the brand’s founder, Tommy Hilfiger, has written a letter to Hrithik apologising for the episode. Apparently, in the letter, Tommy — after learning about the episode — wrote that he was remorseful and embarrassed about his team’s faux pas. “Tommy immediately got in touch with Hrithik [after the episode]. He wrote a letter to the actor and graciously owned up to the mistake by his brand’s team. He also said he was a fan of Hrithik’s works, and asked for his forgiveness,” says a source.
According to the source, Hrithik was impressed with Tommy’s humble and chivalrous letter. “What impressed Hrithik the most was the fact that Tommy owned up to the incident and elegantly sent a written apology,” the source says.
It’s believed that Hrithik also wrote back to the designer, “graciously accepting” the apology and clearing all the negativity around the incident. When contacted, Hrithik confirmed the news, but did not speak in detail about the letters.
IN THE LETTER, TOMMY — AFTER LEARNING ABOUT THE ENTIRE EPISODE — WROTE THAT HE WAS REMORSEFUL AND EMBARRASSED ABOUT HIS TEAM’S FAUX PAS.
