Making time for a cause
DEEPIKA HAS INSTRUCTED HER TEAM TO MAKE SURE THAT SHE IS “ALWAYS KEPT IN THE LOOP” REGARDLESS OF HER SCHEDULE.
Back in 2015, Deepika Padukone (right) launched her NGO, Live Love Laugh Foundation, which is dedicated to fighting depression and the stigma around it. A source says that although the actor has been busy with her professional commitments, she regularly goes out of the way to make time for her foundation.
“Over the past few weeks, Deepika was busy shooting for Padmavati, promoting her Hollywood film (xXx: Return of Xander Cage) across the globe, and has also been making time for her multiple brand endorsements. But still, Deepika made sure that she keeps aside some time every few days to stay updated on the activities of her foundation,” says the source.
Apparently, Deepika has instructed her team to make sure that she is “always kept in the loop” regardless of her schedule. The source says, “When she was in town, she would catch up with a few team members to discuss ongoing activities and other developments. Even when she is not around and busy with her other commitments, extensive conference calls are scheduled so she can stay in touch.”
The source added that the Chennai Express (2013) actor is “actively involved” in the functioning of the foundation, and is also in touch with her team of specialists, doctors and counsellors, who fill her in on the experiences they have had with people who approach the organisation. “The foundation is close to Deepika’s heart, and so, regardless of her busy schedule, she will always make time for it at regular intervals,” the source says. Deepika couldn’t be reached for a comment.
