Big B bonds with the best smartphone
Actor Amitabh Bachchan (right) is known to have hosted a popular quiz show on television. However, Big B sportingly turned contestant for the first time recently for OnePlus 3T, which has been rated “the best smartphone in India”, by a consumer survey. Big B and OnePlus fan Rohan Joshi of AIB fame have come together to launch a series of unique activations, including a quiz show, to promote The Best Smartphone Contest.
The contest is a way to celebrate the fact that OnePlus 3T, which has been rated the best, with the highest rating of 4.4 by consumers. The ratings have been independently validated by global consultancy firm Nielsen for all smartphones listed on the Amazon website with a minimum of 100 ratings as on March 1, 2017.
The promotional campaign, which is perhaps a first-ever initiative of its kind and scale, helps users to interact with the brand while participating for the grand prize of 1 crore and other incentives.

The multi-faceted campaign pushes the spectrum of contemporary advertising and sets new standards. The TVC opens on the set of a game show with Rohan Joshi as the contestant and Amitabh Bachchan as the host.
Bachchan puts forth the final question for ` 1 crore, “Which is the best rated smartphone in India?” What follows is a humourous exchange as Rohan states that he knows the answer but instead quizzes Bachchan to respond to this. Bachchan becomes the contestant and calls for an audience poll to help him with the correct answer from the four options given on the screen. The audience unanimously votes for the OnePlus 3T. In his signature tone, Bachchan requests the computer to block option A – OnePlus 3T, and announces Rohan as the winner of the grand prize of ` 1 crore. As the TVC comes to a close, Bachchan announces the Best Smartphone Contest, where one lucky viewer can win ` 1 crore.
