‘FILMS HAVE BEEN AN ASPIRATION FOR ME’
Karan Tacker, who has been on a break from acting on TV, is waiting for a film that will help him grow creatively
Karan Tacker is juggling a lot of things. He started acting eight years ago with the TV show Love Ne Mila Di Jodi, followed by Rang Badalti Odhani and Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, which ended in 2013. However, he hasn’t been part of a fiction show since then. “I love acting which is why I became an actor. It’s been a while since I acted though. The only opportunity I get to act now is when I audition for films. It is exciting to perform a scene.”
Karan says “the content on TV has taken a backseat unfortunately”. As supernatural and mythological shows are working well on the tube, the actor says that he “doesn’t blame the makers or channels for catering to these audiences”. “Frankly, I am waiting for a show that is relatable, but none have been offered to me. Films have been an aspiration for me and for that matter every actor. I have been in the rut of acting in a movie for the he last one year. ar. I have been n offered manyny roles. This year looks hopeful,” he says.
There were also rumours that he might be featuring in Karan Johar’s next film after he was spotted at a party with the film-maker. He clarifies, “We were in talks for a role but nothing has materialised yet.”
Apart from his career, Karan’s personal life often makes headlines. The actor had recently put up a photo with his alleged girlfriend, Krystle D’souza, on her birthday last month and it became a talking point. “I am so happy that people are interested in my personal life. It makes me feel sensational,” he says, laughing. So, does he find it difficult to maintain his privacy? “If you are friends with someone, you put up a photo on his or her birthday. It is as casual as that. And as for privacy, I think it is a small small price price toto pay forfor being being aa celebrity celebrity. There is a thin line between reporting and invading someone’s privacy. As long as that respect is maintained from both sides, I am fine. When you are a celebrity, you have to be open to speculation by the media and public. I don’t really crib about it,” says Karan.
