Vivek plans a foreign trip for cancer patients
Vivek Oberoi has often been one of the few people to contribute to social causes and make a difference in people’s lives. The actor has been the brand ambassador for the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) for more than a decade, and has also set up a charity to provide shelter and education to the children of sex workers in Mumbai. Besides that, he has also contributed to environmental causes and helped set up initiatives to empower girls. Now, it appears The Krrish 3 (2013) actor is taking children aided by the CPAA to Malaysia for a vacation.
A source says, “For the past 13 years, Vivek has been associated with raising funds for CPAA, has celebrated his birthdays (September 3) with the children, and plans special events for them — bringing gifts, taking them out for a movie or bringing them along for his film shoots. This year, Vivek has decided to take the kids to Malaysia for a vacation, as they have never had the chance to fly abroad or visit a foreign country. He is currently shooting in Serbia for the Tamil film Vivegam, and will be flying directly to Malaysia to join the children, as he wants to be there and share their joy. The actor will stay there for five days with them.”
Vivek says, “I am blessed that God has given me the opportunity to bring a smile to the faces of these children. It gives me a great high. To see them smile is always a gratifying experience.”
