Saif Ali Khan doesn’t mind grey hair for a character; suggests the same to the makers

Through his 24-year-long film career, he has played a variety of parts in a number of movies. But what Saif Ali Khan hasn’t done till date is donning grey hair on screen. But now, the actor has done that too, as visible in the first-look poster of an upcoming film, Baazaar.

“What’s interesting is that it was the actor, who had suggested to the makers about greying his character’s hair. Saif as well as makers knew that it (greying his hair) will make audiences anticipate as to what his character could be. It seems to be an intense outing for him,” says an insider.

Makers found Saif ’s suggestion “interesting”, especially because it goes “very well” with Saif ’s character that is supposed to “intense” and “powerful.” “Also, since Saif is well known for setting style statements with panache, makers knew that he can pull off the grey lock very easily,” says the insider.

The actor is also believed to be excited about his new look and the film since the new film will be a part of “a very diverse” line-up of films starting with a Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood hit Chef and Akshat Verma’s Kaalakaandi.

“In all the films, Saif will be seen in completely different avatars that is keeping him excited as an actor,” says the insider. In an earlier interview, Saif told HT Café: “I am a certain kind of actor. I want to continue to do the kind of work I do best, and to the best of my abilities. I just want to do some good work, go home and have a good life.”
