Known to be the quintessential action hero in the early ’90s when he made his debut, Suniel Shetty progressed to playing different kind of roles — comic, villainous or romantic. However, since 2012, he started doing fewer films and later, decided to take a sabbatical. After a fouryear break, the actor is now back to work as a host of a TV show. However, he says that the urge to be in films isn’t as strong anymore. “But I am very passionate about being in the industry. Now my kids (Athiya and Ahan Shetty) are also here, and I am grateful for the love and adulation. I don’t think I have it in me to do what it takes anymore. I will produce films for my children but only when something worthwhile comes up. But as far as acting is concerned, the day when I say pack up isn’t too far. I started working way too early, so now, I would like to spend more time with my family,” says Suniel.

His father passed away last month and the actor says that his death taught him to prioritise family. “For so many years, Mana (Shetty, wife; inset) has seen me work but now I want to get away. I have been in that state of mind for a while where I want to travel and relax. I am sure that at some point, every actor will say that ‘this is enough’. I think I am headed in that direction. Also, there is too much pressure these days from every quarter including social media. Sometimes, that can get a bit too much to handle,” he says.
