‘I’d love to work with Ranbir’
In her three years in Bollywood, Kriti Sanon (below) has shared the frame with senior actors such as Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, but she has only starred opposite young actors so far. And it seems Ranbir Kapoor now tops the list of actors she wants to be cast opposite in the future. Speaking about Ranbir, Kriti says, “I really like it when I can see an actor who can express himself just with his eyes. It is so important and engages you. Every actor has a different way of working. With Ranbir, I think even when the camera only focuses on his face — he emotes really well and he conveys what he wants to say. He is an amazing actor. I’d love to work with him.”
The actor also finds Priyanka Chopra very inspiring, and among her contemporaries, Kriti admires Alia Bhatt and her choice of films. “She [Alia] is very interesting and talented. I feel she is gifted. She can pull off characters so well and so naturally. I’m not sure if she is spontaneous or follows a method. She seems spontaneous to me, and that’s something that I like,” Kriti says.
Bollywood is rife with competition and Kriti is no stranger to the fact. “Everybody is competitive,” she says, adding, “But I believe in healthy competition. It’s not like I would wish bad things for anyone else. In a way, everybody is competition, because you are being considered for the same films.” The actor goes on to say that she likes watching other actors’ work, because she feels every actor has a different take on things. “Every actor approaches a scene very differently. It is nice to watch them, to learn different things from other people’s work. A lot of people watch Hollywood films and foreign films, and they learn from actors who they really admire,” says the Dilwale (2015) actor.
