My kids do get star-struck: Juhi

Actor Juhi Chawla often talks about how her son Arjun and daughter Jahnavi Mehta haven’t seen any of her films from the ’90s. However, it appears they do get star-struck when they see or meet top Bollywood actors.

Ask Juhi if there has ever been such a moment, andand she reveals that her daughter often gets awestruck when she sees Deepika Padukone or Varun Dhawan on the screen. “Jahnavi has always been a fan of Deepika. The actor had come over once, and I think Jahnavi must have been quite in a daze. Come on, it’s natural for my kids,” Juhi says.

The actor recalls how she used to interact with celebrities’ children — some of whom have now turned into big stars themselves — while shooting for her films. “I have seen Varun [Dhawan] as a kid around, though I haven’t worked with him. Whenever we went out to shoot Deewana Mastana (1997), David ji’s [Dhawan] kids would come along. We had a 20-day schedule in Toronto (Canada), and we spent time in the bus. I’d chat with Rohit [Dhawan] and Varun. I even have their pictures. Today, Varun has become a star, and when my daughter says ‘oh he is so cool, so nice and so handsome’, I’m like ‘God, wow! How time flies!’”

Is there anything in particular that Jahnavi admires about Deepika or Varun? “She likes their personalities, loves to watch their films and follows them on social media. I can’t recollect details of what she said about them, but she did mention that she likes Deepika as an actor.”
