WE GOT A LOT OF RESPECT: DIPIKA

The actor talks about her journey with beau Shoaib Ibrahim on a dance reality show; says she is happy that their fans saw their real personalities

Dipika Kakar and her partner, Shoaib Ibrahim participated in a dance reality show but were eliminated right before the finale. But she is not disappointed. She says the experience was “beautiful”. “We both love dancing and we received a lot of encouragement on the show, which added to the positive experience. When we took up the show, we wanted to have a good time. We enjoyed dancing and working together. Shoaib and I earned a lot of love and respect on the show, which matters the most to us. It was emotional for us to leave the show. We made a lot of good memories and met some amazing couples.”

Dipika is known to be a private person and refrains from talking about her relationships. But the couple revealed a lot about their personal lives including Dipika’s first marriage on the show. Talking about why she chose to talk on a national platform, Dipika says, “Many people didn’t know that Shoaib is the inspiration behind my poetry. I am glad

that my fans appreciated this revelation. As for my past, I really wanted it to be portrayed in a positive way. There was a lot of gossip about us (on the sets of their

TV show), and I wanted to give out a message to the audience. We managed to do that and it was a victory for us.” Dipika and Shoaib met on their daily TV show and fell in love while working together. They didn’t admit to their relationship until last year. Now they plan to get married this year-end. Dipika says she is glad that people could see the real equation between them on the show, including how she “talks a lot”. She adds, “Main badnaam hoon (I am infamous) because I talk a lot. He is the quiet one and loves to hear me talk.”
