Keith Sequeira inspired by Shah Rukh Khan
Former model Keith Sequeira is a popular face on television due to his stint as a music channel VJ, and recently with the reality show Bigg Boss. After having been part of TV shows such as Dekho Magar Pyaar Se, Diya Aur Baati Hum and Doli Armaano Ki, he stayed away from TTV. This year, Keith madema a comeback on tetelevision in a romantic avatar, essaying the role of the charming, Prince Madhav, in a show co-starring Sanjeeda Shaikh.
Keith, showed his roromantic side in Bigg Boss,Bos and believes that his “charcharming and chivalrous side on the reality show fetched” him the daily soap. His then girlfriend and now fiancée Rochelle Rao was a co-contestant. “I guess the writers of my show figured the role suited my real personality after seeing me on the reality show. Romance is a genre that’s close to my heart and as an actor, it’s an intense and fulfilling experience. I enjoy playing a romantic guy on the show,” he says.
Keith says for romantic scenes, he “takes inspiration from Shah Rukh Khan” and admits that he loved VeerZaara (2004), so much that he “watched it over and over again”. “It has got to be the bible of romance, especially in the context of our Indian sensibilities,” he says.
He adds, “I grew up on the magic and movies of SRK. The intensity with which he looks into the eyes of his heroines, the depth and feel of his dialogue delivery, his body language in his romantic scenes and the seduction of his voice, are qualities any actor can only aspire for.”
Keith is glad he met Shah Rukh, during his reality show stint and calls him “a gentleman, and a humble and warm
person”.
