Sonu Sood to open a free gym in Farrukhabad

Sonu Sood, who runs a spacious gym in his hometown Moga (Punjab) that offers free workout services to people, has now decided to open another fitness station in Farrukhabad, UP.

A source says, “The new gym, which he is planning to set up soon will also offer services to the fitness enthusiasts free of cost and is named after his late father, Shakti Sood. He would be setting it up in a place near Lucknow and it will have all modern facilities. The actor has been creating awareness about fitness ever since he launched his first gym [in Moga].” One of Sonu’s friends, Jitendra Yadav will be taking care of the gym, added the source.

Sonu says, “I have friends in Lucknow who have told me about the lack of proper fitness stations in Farrukhabad. Since they’re aware that I’m always open to doing something related to fitness, they discussed with me about opening up a gym in the area. I thought about it and eventually decided to open one. I’ll keep visiting the city whenever I’m free.”

Talking about popularising gym culture in the country, the Happy New Year (2014) actor says, “I want to introduce the gym culture to the people, especially to those who are underprivileged and can’t afford proper health facilities. I want them to understand the importance of having a healthy body and mind. With our hectic lifestyle, one tends to forget the importance of exercising.”
