Shraddha Kapoor hits a home run

Earlier this year, Shraddha Kapoor gifted herself a new home — in the same society where she currently stays with her parents, Shakti and Shivangi Kapoor, and brother Siddhanth – in Juhu. “It’s (the new home) very cute and is just downstairs (from the family home),” says the actor, adding that there are two bedrooms at her new abode.

Adding that she doesn’t live in the new apartment, Shraddha says she does her “exercises, stretching, cycling and even some of my dance sessions there”. She adds, “My mum also does her spiritual practices there every Tuesday. I go there (to the new house) if I want to read a script and want to be on my own.”

Shraddha also uses her new abode for an unusual purpose. “All my extra stuff, including new and old clothes, also goes there. I don’t throw even my old stuff (laughs), unless I really have to. I am extremely attached to them. I can’t ever throw things; I have to donate them,” says the Ek Villain (2014) actor.

Although Shraddha’s debut film, Teen Patti released in 2010, Shraddha says she has “actually been acting since I was 20”. She says, “So, I have been at it for about 10 years now. Still, sometimes, I get those nervous pangs and feel as if it’s the first time. But at other times, I feel relaxed too. So, every moment isn’t the same,” she says.

What’s the most challenging thing about being an actor? “It’s a constant work in progress but sometimes, one of the most difficult things is to just forget about the camera being there. Also, I am generally a lazy person to get ready and do my hair, makeup etc., for events which aren’t related to films such as live shows, etc. I get very restless. I wish I could wear track pants everywhere,” she says.
