It’s vacation time for Shoaib Ibrahim

The actor, who shot for a dance reality show and his television serial at the same time, is enjoying his free time

Shoaib Ibrahim says he was thrilled to be seen with his girlfriend Dipika Kakar on the dance reality show, Nach Baliye, after working together for more than four years in a soap. “Nach Baliye gave Dipika and me a lot. We had a fantastic journey, even though we are not professional dancers. I had never performed before such a huge audience. The biggest takeaway was that people got the chance to see the real side of us,” he says.

The last couple of months have been very busy for Shoaib, as he was shooting for a TV show alongside the reality show. “I had the reality show and my TV show on air simultaneously, so it was a lot of work in the past four to five months. Right now, I am in the mood for a vacation. I have a few things in the pipeline, but I am not in a hurry. I am taking my time to decide what I want to do next and am enjoying my break.”

Talking about his comeback with the weekend show Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai, he says, “Returning to a serial after a long hiatus was fun. I was looking for a story that was unlike what I had done earlier and something that would be interesting. I played an Army man in the show, which had elements of suspense, romance and drama. I got a lot of love from the viewers for my part in the show. The journey was a bit short, as the show ended recently, but it was always a finite project.”

Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai didn’t climb high on the ratings charts, but Shoaib says fans still write to him about it. “We got decent ratings and the show was quite popular. Even today, people write to me asking why it couldn’t last longer, as the reviews we got were good. Every show has to end and it is better to end on a good note. This show was a wonderful experience.”
