Radhika Apte’s Janmashtami plans in Pune

Apte, who has been bombarded with invitations for Dahi Handi functions, will attend three of them in her native town

It’s a known fact that Pune girl Radhika Apte had shifted from her home town to Mumbai to chase her acting dreams. But she hasn’t let go of her native town, and her native place too remembers her extremely fondly. Probably that’s why she has been inundated with several requests for gracing Dahi Handi events in Pune with her presence.

“Radhika was born and brought up in Pune and even did her schooling from the city. Now since Janmashtami is around the corner, she has been receiving several requests to attend Dahi Handi events in the city. Since the organisers know that she belongs to the city, they are very keen on having her during the celebrations,” says an insider.

Apparently, Radhika is also “very eager” to attend the festival of Janmashtami in her own city. We have learnt that she has taken out time from her work schedule, and will be attending as many as three Dahi Handi functions in Pune.

“Radhika could only make time for attending three events this Janmashtami, despite all the invitations that she got,” says the insider.

Apparently, people of Pune take immense pride in Radhika’s incredible journey in the film industry and the fact that she is a self-made girl, who has made a solid mark in Bollywood.

Radhika says, “It is always wonderful to go to my city, Pune, and visit my home there. I’m excited to join in the celebrations of Dahi Handi this year with the colours, happy faces and the celebratory mood.” Radhika is currently busy with the shoot of her forthcoming film Padman starring Akshay Kumar.
