Actor Ileana D’cruz who made her Bollywood debut with Barfi in 2012, has acted in six films over the last five years. But the actor, who is a popular name in the South Indian film industry, has been in showbiz for over 11 years now. Though the actor accepts that she has been careful while selecting projects, she says she isn’t worried about competition. “A lot of people have told me that I need to be ‘spotted’ more often but I don’t think that helps. Maybe, I should have socialised with people at parties when I started out, but I couldn’t do that. I know what space I am in, and I am also aware that I may not be able to do something, which another actor can do. But that’s fine because everyone has their own strengths. I am glad that so far, all my decisions have worked out well for me”, says the Main Tera Hero (2014) actor. Ileana, who turns 31 this year, is one of the few actors who doesn’t shy away from talking about her age. “I have been around for 11 years and I love my job. I still have a long way to go. When I look back, I still feel like I have just started out. But I am not under any illusion. I know I am not getting younger, and I will have to gracefully bow out. Besides, I don’t want to be known as an actor who remains 23 [years old] for eight years. I am not insecure about ageing,” says the actor whose next release is the Ajay Devgn-starrer Baadshaho, which is set against the backdrop of emergency.
