Tabu to play herself in the Dutt biopic
Right from the start, the Sanjay Dutt biopic is a film that has seen multiple casting coups. So, while Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing Sanjay Dutt in the Rajkumar Hirani-directed biopic, Anushka Sharma will be seen as a journalist, and Sonam Kapoor will portray Ranbir’s love interest. Manisha Koirala will also be seen playing Nargis Dutt in the film.
Now, HT Café has learnt that the film will have another star attraction. Tabu will be seen in a cameo in the film. Insiders say that the two-time National Award-winning actress recently shot for a scene in the film in which she plays herself.
“Tabu will be seen presenting an award for the best actor in a comic role to Ranbir, who plays Dutt in the movie. In real life too, Sanjay had won the same award for Munna Bhai MBBS in 2004 and Tabu had presented the trophy to him back then. The same scene has been recreated for the film,” says the insider.

kameez and red dupatta that she had worn back in 2004 when she went up on stage to present the award to Dutt.
“In fact, Tabu and Hirani got chatting and had lots to share from the past. Tabu also got nostalgic about how thrilled Dutt was with his win back then. Dutt and Tabu, who acted in Sarhad Paar (2006) have always been good friends,” adds the insider.
This Diwali, Tabu will also be seen alongside Ajay Devgn and Parineeti Chopra in Golmaal Again. Interestingly, in 2015, the actor featured in Drishyam that also had Ajay in the lead.
