Very few people have such an opportunity wherein you have an obvious and apparent shortcoming, but you can directly attack it and turn your life into the greatest story ever told. HRITHIK ROSHAN, ACTOR

Till date, he has portrayed a variety of characters in his career. But many feel that Hrithik Roshan’s outing as a visually impaired man in Sanjay Gupta’s Kaabil could easily be among his top performances.

So how would Hrithik rate the film? “Frankly, I will know the answer to that only sometime down the line, when I watch the film again. There are good chances of it being the first film in my life that I would be 100% satisfied with,” he says, adding, “I am hopeful that Kaabil is going to score the maximum points when I watch it again in two to three years. So, that way, it may turn out to be my most satisfying film.”

The Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) actor admits that most of the times, when he watches any of his films after a few years of its release, he isn’t fully satisfied. “So, at the time of the release, I could have thought that the film was good, but later, I see the flaws and the mistakes that I had made,” he says, adding that it also makes him feel he needs to “evolve more as an actor”. Recently, Hrithik did a special photo shoot with a visually impaired photographer, Charles Neves Rao. “The word handicap exists in my dictionary, but the connotation of that word is not a bad one,” he says.

In fact, the meaning of the word ‘handicap’, for Hrithik, is a very “empowering” one. “Very few people have such an opportunity wherein you have an obvious and apparent shortcoming, but you can directly attack it and turn your life into the greatest story ever told. For me, the word handicap exists, it’s an empowering one if you see it in the right way,” he says.
