Actor Milo Ventimiglia gained international recognition for his roles — Jess Mariano for the television comedy series Gilmore Girls and Peter Petrelli for the drama series Heroes. The 40-year-old actor currently stars as Jack Pearson in the drama series This Is Us and has received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Milo speaks about his role, the popular show and more. Excerpts from the interview: I think, the fact that he was a good guy got me interested. I think in the current television landscape, we have shown more of war, crime and scandal. I like the fact that there is some goodness in this man and in this show. I think there’s probably a little bit of me in him and a little bit of him in me. I try to be a good guy. I try to be kind and honest. But I’m also a human being. I don’t have any kids; I’m not married. But, if I was, I think, I would hopefully be as enamoured with my wife and kids as Jack is. I get quite a few people recognising me from the Heroes days and Gilmore Girls. It varies. For most of the part, everybody walks up to me smiling and that always feels good. I don’t feel that at all. I’m very confident in what we are doing. I think there’s an anticipation, which is exciting but I don’t feel the weight to perform. I feel, we just get to show up, do our jobs, enjoy ourselves and hand it over to the audiences. It’s funny when you walk into I don’t wanna say that there has been a lot of downtime. It’s one of those sets where you just hang around. It’s a great crew. Amazing. She’s incredible, kind, funny and smart. The kind of partner you want in a journey like this, on a show like this.
