‘If you look hot, you can play a hot dad too’
Actor Keith Sequeira, who is wrapping the last few days of his ongoing show, is already sad about the end the finite series.
“It has been a hectic last few days. Working on the show was absolutely fabulous and I feel I have grown as an actor. My character transitioned from a lover boy to a jilted alcoholic man and the journey has been beautiful. It was supposed to be a finite series, but it still feels sad to leave a good show,” says Keith, who has vacation goals on his mind.
After hosting numerous shows and acting in a few TV serials, Keith, now has no qualms about the kind of roles he takes up.
Is he worried about being stuck with the tag of a dad, the role that he played on this show? Keith replies, “For me, it’s not about playing older roles on screen. Tomorrow, after I cut my hair short and lose the beard, I can again play a young lover boy in another show. That’s the beauty of acting. Gone are the days when people could label you as a father or a mother, if you portrayed such roles. But, it depends on how you look in real life. If you look like a father, people will give you those roles. But if you look hot, they would want to cast you on the role of a hot lover or even a hot dad (laughs).”
Though the actor is in love with acting, he says he enjoys hosting shows too. “I like hosting and will never stop it. But acting is such a mind game; I love it. When we learnt about our show ending all of a sudden, it appeared blurred to me. I was in talks for another show, which I didn’t take up as I was doing this one. Now, it might work out. I’ll get clarity on it soon.”
