Kingsman is back with a vengeance
Kingsman: The Golden Circle will have more action than its first part, reveals the cast to HT Café
In a recent interview, actors Taron Egerton and Jeff Bridges revealed that the much-anticipated sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s 2014 spy-themed blockbuster will bring the franchise back to the screen “with a vengeance”.
Egerton, who plays Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin says, “It’s grander. The movie has got a bigger budget, a far bigger scale. It’s a greater cast of characters. But I think it’s fair to say it’s very much Eggsy’s story, but with some extreme A-list backup.”
He further adds, “By and large, the overriding emotion is just, ‘Bloody hell, we did it! We’re here! We’re rocking, we’re back with a vengeance, which is really exciting. There’s a lot more of action, I think, but not at the expense of the narrative and the character development. There’s a lot more. There were several big set pieces. Several large fights. It really is a white-knuckle ride.”
Talking about the film, actor Jeff Bridges, who plays agent Champagne in the series, says, “It’s not all entirely fun and games and send-ups and heads blowing up. There’s a kind of sweetness and sincerity running through it as well.”
Kingsman: The Golden Circle will take the adventures of the Kingsman past those of the UK-based spy group, and over to the US, where Eggsy meets up with Kingsman’s transatlantic counterpart, Statesman.
The film sees a starstudded cast — Halle Berry, Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Julianne Moore, Channing Tatum, and Pedro Pascal. It will also see a memorable appearance by legendary singer Elton John.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is set to be the biggest action spy film of 2017 and will release in India on September 22. The film will be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
