‘I MISS ACTING A LOT’
Rithvik Dhanjani says he is brushing up on his acting skills while he waits for a good script
These days, Rithvik Dhanjani is busy these days hosting the reality TV show, Super Dancer. The actor, who has acted in shows such as Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, Pavitra Rishta and Fanaah, later moved on to hosting shows that include India’s Best Dramebaaz, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Distraction and Super Dancer.
But the actor admits that he “misses acting a lot”. “That’s why I work on my craft (acting). I have an acting teacher and I work with him whenever I have some free time. These classes help me as nowadays, I am not acting on a regular basis on any project. I have to keep brushing up my skills. I enjoy these acting classes as I love my craft.”
Rithvik says he hopes to find a great script that he can do justice to. He wants a script that requires him as much as he wants that script. He adds, “I really want to be part of something great — be it in films or television. After Pavitra Rishta, I ventured into the non-fiction space as I didn’t find an exciting project. When it comes to anchoring, I keep watching other people (hosts), who are great at doing what they do and learning from them. My journey has been a spectacular one. But there is a lot for me to learn and achieve.”
The Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani actor is also glad that he got to be part of an adventure reality show with his friends Ravi Dubey and Karan Wahi. Talking about it, he says, “We all had too much fun and there was madness throughout the show. I was happy that I got a chance to be with them on a show like this. It is so much more than just a show, making money and doing stunts. I learnt a lot about myself as there were emotional roller coaster rides and physical ones too (laughs). And, we were all together in it, which is what mattered.”
