Songs that have become the story’s soul
Jia Aur Jia is the tale of an unlikely friendship between two girls, who have the same name and develop a bond during a fun road trip. And the behind-the-camera scenes were no different. During the shooting of the film in Sweden, the stars of the film, Kalki Koechlin and Richa Chadha, enjoyed doing what all women do — shopping.
A source reveals that ‘Na shukrey’ is one song that the film’s unit won’t forget. The song was shot in the market square of the Swedish city of Malmö, and as limited shooting equipment was allowed at the location, the cast and crew made the most of the situation and dashed off to shop.
Director Howard Rosemeyer gave everyone complete liberty to let their hair down even when they were filming another song, ‘Naach basanti’ in the beach area of Saltsjöbaden, in the city of Ystad.
Talking about the songs, which have become a rage, Rosemeyer said, “The songs somewhere have become the soul of the film. Each and every shoot was a party for the whole crew. With the inclusion of the orignal ‘Jia aur Jia’ track, we decided to pay tribute to every technician that had worked on the film.” Arslan Goni is the film’s male lead.
