Shraddha is fully ‘booked’

- Prashant Singh

Don’t be surprised if you spot Shraddha Kapoor intently reading Israeli writer, Yuval Noah Harari’s Sapiens nowadays. Not many know that way before becoming an actor; she had developed a special love for reading. But now, being one of the busiest Bollywood actors around, Shraddha doesn’t get “enough free time” to catch up on her hobby of reading.

So, instead of waiting for “free time” to continue with her old habit of reading books, Shraddha has decided to read books while travelling or whenever she gets a breather in between. She wasn’t able to read much otherwise.

“Yes, despite her busy shooting schedule, she has been investing her free time to catch up on reading. Now, Shraddha really wants to keep this habit going and ensures she reads whenever there’s some free time. She also carries a number of books on different genres whenever she is on the move,” says an insider.

Shraddha, who has always maintained that reading is a “good habit to have”, and that she wishes she could make more time for it”, loves the tradition of “imbibing information, grasping knowledge or even reading novels to experience a story through books.” Recently, she took to Twitter and posted a video of kids with books, giving out the message of developing the habit of reading.

When contacted, Shraddha says, “While travelling, I like catching up [on my reading] as much as possible. I recently finished reading The Wisdom of My Grandmothers by Adriana Trigiani and, in fact, reread Who Will Cry When You Die (by Robin Sharma).”

The Baaghi (2016) actor feels the “best part about reading on the go is that you feel disconnected from your daily routine and schedule.” She adds: “Also reading on a flight is awesome because your phone is off and the distractions are minimal.”
