CHITRANGDA GETS TWO NEW LOOKS

Next year, Singh will be seen in two disparate characters in her new films; the actor says it’s “exciting” to step into such worlds

Her last Bollywood outing was a special appearance in the song ‘Aao raja’ in the 2015 film, Gabbar Is Back. Now, Chitrangda Singh is set to be seen in two “very different avatars” next year. On one hand, she will be seen in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 (SBAG 3), and she will also be part of the Saif Ali Khan-starrer Bazaar.

“For Chitrangda, what’s most exciting is the fact that while SBAG 3 is a well-known franchise, and a completely rooted film, Bazaar has been set in a corporate environment. That’s why she is very excited and looking forward to portraying two absolutely distinct characters,” says an insider.

Since both the films are “poles apart”, Chitrangda is also finding it exciting to switch between the two “challenging” parts. “Any actor looks for such exciting roles in his or her career. Though Chitrangda hasn’t done a full-fledged part for a while now, she is happy that she is getting to play such diverse roles in her next two ventures,” says the insider.

What the Inkaar (2013) actor also finds “interesting” is that not just her parts, her looks are also “extremely disparate” in both the films. “She looks drastically different in both her projects. Like any actor, she is also looking forward to see how the audiences will respond to her choices and performances,” says the insider.

When contacted, Chitrangda says: “Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 and Bazaar are two very different films with absolutely distinct set-ups. It’s exciting to be getting into two absolutely different characters. I am loving the process thoroughly.”
