Music festivals and concerts are nothing short of a fashion parade these days. From quirky styling to classics, the choices seem to be getting better every year. This year, before you decide on what you are going to shop for, fashion designer Varsha Wadhwa gives us a low-down on what’s hot this season. We also have singer Akasa Singh share style tips on what are a must for her when she is performing at a concert. So take your pick and enjoy the music.

FASHION FEAST

“Music festivals include dancing under the stars and stuffing oneself with loads of food, and that calls for breathable fabrics and darker colours. But it [music festivals] isn’t only about amazing music. We still want to look cute,” says Wadhwa. Aside from the basic crop top, shorts and floral dresses, she feels a great choice would be an easy cotton choker-romper with the whole ’80s vibe, worn with thigh high tights/boots.

Similarly, as a performing artiste, Akasa swears by comfort when it comes to opting for her onstage outfits. “I always prioritise comfort while performing. Something I can easily move and jump around in. For example, a jumpsuit or pants teamed with a crop top and jacket are the best bets. It’s comfortable yet chic,” says Akasa, adding, “My favourite look would be a long flowing top or cape, with a pair of shorts, comfortable boots so I don’t get tired walking around or standing, and a statement headgear like a flower, metal wreath or a funky hat.”

STYLE CHECK

Each one of us wants to look our best and stand out with our style at a festival or a concert. Here are some cool tips Akasa lists down. Experiment with make-up. Get one side of your face glittered. Wear a shade of lipstick you wouldn’t normally wear (black is awesome) A ripped pair of jeans with boots and a funky crop top or tied up tee works wonders Choose bold colours, and accessorise it with necklaces or big statement earrings.
