Vinny has been my lucky charm, says Dheeraj
Iam feeling nostalgic, says Dheeraj Dhoopar, who is excited to celebrate his first wedding anniversary on November 18. “My wife Vinny (Arora, actor) and I didn’t even realise that it has been a year. Last year, this week, we were preparing for the various functions, friends and family had come over, there were parties and we all had so much fun. I am missing that (laughs). Life has been good since then,” he says.
The actor’s career has shot off this year as he bagged Ekta Kapoor’s show that became a success within weeks of going on air. “I am really happy to have Vinny in my life. Vinny has been my lucky charm. Currently, I am busy with my TV show but I am not complaining,” he says.
Dheeraj has planned to whisk his wife away to Hong Kong and Macau to celebrate the anniversary. “We both love Disneyland and wanted to go to Paris (France) but I won’t be able to leave for so many days because of my show. I have been to Hong Kong but it’s a first for her and I will show her sights. Our taste in travel and food matches, so I know she will love the city,” says the actor.
The couple had gone to Maldives for their honeymoon. “We would have loved to go there again but we went in January this year, so we thought it would be too soon to visit the place again,” says Dheeraj.
This year has been special for Dheeraj who “feels blessed and thanks God” for it. “I was destined to do this cool show with a character that has many shades for me to essay. This year has been lucky for me as I got the chance to do everything I wanted in my personal life and career. I got the girl of my choice in Vinny, and it was a dream to do a romantic show with Ekta and I got that too. The love I have got from audience has been overwhelming. When I began acting, I got compliments for my looks and dimples but now people are appreciating my acting skills too.”
