Ed Sheeran’s ‘perfect’ plans for his India visit

d Sheeran’s much-awaited Divide Album Asia Tour has finally kicked off. Even though his widely covered injury recently led to several shows being cancelled, the British singer didn’t cancel the Indian leg of the tour. Sheeran’s concert is scheduled for November 19, at Jio Gardens, Bandra (E).
HT Café has learnt that Sheeran will be staying at a plush hotel in South Mumbai, and will visit a charitable organisation. He’s also planning to go sightseeing and shopping in places such as Colaba Causeway, Gateway of India and Kala Ghoda. The hotel is curating a special menu for Sheeran, with dishes such as paneer tikka, dal makhani, butter chicken, Hyderabadi biryani, kulfi and the like. A special Aryuvedic de-stress session has also been arranged for the singer before the concert.
During Sheeran’s maiden visit to India, Abhishek Bachchan and Farah Khan had thrown a party for the singer, and Farah is organising a lavish party this year too. A source reveals, “Farah knows Ed through a mutual friend in London, UK. During his maiden trip to India in 2015, Farah had introduced Ed to all her Bollywood friends, and she is throwing a bash for him tonight as well. Her kids — Anya, Diva and Czar — are now old enough to know about international music and are excited to meet him. Over a 100 guests will be invited and all of Farah’s close friends, including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Karan Johar, are expected to be in attendance. Farah has also planned a theme for the bash which is a surprise for the English singer. Biriyani will be on the menu, as Ed is quite fond of Indian food, but other cuisines will also be served.”
The source added that since Ed has said that he found Bollywood films colourful, the promoters of the show are setting up meetings between Ed and industry personalities such as Karan Johar and AR Rahman, besides gifting a custom made handloom jacket in his favourite colour, orange.
