Parineeti, Arjun reach IndoNepal border

- Prashant Singh

Ever since they made their debuts with Ishaqzaade (2012), Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor have shot at various locations for several projects. But for the past few days, the two actors have been busy shooting at an unusual spot — the international border of India and Nepal, that is constantly under radar for illegal immigration, for their new film. “It could be called one of the most challenging shooting schedules for them,” says an insider.

The movie, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’s (SAPF) director Dibakar Banerjee was very clear that he has to shoot a few “really intense and gritty portions at the Indo-Nepal border,” says the insider, adding, “The portions show the tension between Arjun and Parineeti’s respective characters. The area where the two are shooting is exactly at the border and is constantly under alert for illegal immigration and smuggling.”

It goes without saying that shooting has been “quite difficult in such a tough terrain”. “But local authorities have been of tremendous help providing the crew with all the assistance as well as necessary security,” says the insider.

Before the Indo-Nepal border, the film was shot in an Uttarakhand village named Jhulaghat. “The village will soon be immersed underwater because of the construction of a dam. SAPF will end up being the only film to have a visual record of this quaint town that will be evacuated before it gets submerged underwater,” says the insider.

Neither Dibakar nor the actors could be reached for a comment.
