The actor talks about her plans for celebrating her husband Brent Goble’s first Christmas in India
Actor Aashka Goradia got married three weeks ago, but she is still celebrating her union with Brent Goble. The Naagin actor is looking forward to celebrating her first Christmas as a married woman, and wants to make it a “special one” for Brent.
Reminiscing about her last Christmas, when Brent proposed to Aashka while they were at his place in Colorado, USA, the actor says, “It was beautiful. Everyone in his family — his father, mother, brother, sister-in-law and their three kids — were aware of it, but I wasn’t. I had received some 30 gifts from everyone in the family, and I was asked to get the last gift from the tree with the whole family looking on, and looking at the size of the gift did make me think a bit (laughs). Then, the family was ready with cameras, waiting to capture the moment and my reaction when I opened the gift. So while I was doing that, I thought, ‘Is this really happening?’ When I opened the gift, it was a ring. It was the best moment of my life, and we got engaged.”
Aashka adds that she was surprised that Brent proposed on Christmas, as it is a huge festival for him and his family, and in the presence of the “most important people of his life”.
Unlike last year, the couple will not be going to the USA to celebrate Christmas this year, and instead plan to stay in Mumbai itself. Aashka says, “Post our wedding, we went on a trip with my in-laws to many places in India, and since then we have been meeting friends in the city, as many invited us over for dinner. Aashka plans to make a quiche for Brent on Christmas because he “really loves it”. “I don’t know how to, but I’ll follow my motherin-law’s recipe and try to make it the way he likes it,” says the actor.
