Gautam Rode bats for street kids

Actor Gautam Rode feels passionately about street kids and was appalled by the statistics presented to him about the number of kids that go missing in India every year owing to human trafficking. In an attempt to spread awareness and draw attention to the staggering statistics of street kids who people usually ignore, the actor shot a video two years ago and started an initiative called Helping Hands. He had urged his admirers and friends to join him in making a difference.

Now, Gautam has restarted his initiative of helping those in need. The Aksar 2 actor says, “In the last year, unfortunately, I lost touch with the initiative due to my work commitments but it’s never too late to restart. Rather than waiting for the New Year to take it up as a resolution, I decided to restart it before the year ends. My resolution is to spread awareness about the cause as much as possible because I can’t make a difference alone. I am trying to do whatever I can in my capacity to help the children. However, their needs aren’t just basic — they also need someone to spend quality time with them, who can bring positivity and love into their lives. In this day and age, time is the biggest gift one can give someone.”
